Yamamori Tengu Jazz Night Series – A Look Back
Over the past season, Yamamori Tengu has once again transformed into one of Dublin’s most intimate and atmospheric homes for live jazz. Building on the success of our previous sold-out shows, this year’s Jazz Night Series brought together exceptional musicians, vinyl-only DJs, and the unique food culture that defines Yamamori.
From the moment guests arrived, the mood was set: soft lighting, the warm crackle of vinyl, and an intimate seated layout designed to bring people closer to the music. Across several Thursday evenings, we welcomed some of Ireland’s most talented jazz artists, each bringing their own energy and character to the space.
A Season of Standout Performances
Each night opened with a curated vinyl set, adding both retro charm and a contemporary edge. As the evening unfolded, our featured artists took to the stage with performances ranging from soulful vocals to dynamic instrumental arrangements. Among this season’s acts were:
Hayley Kavanagh Quintet – captivating harmonies and modern jazz arrangements
Oceanna – atmospheric, expressive, and beautifully understated
Michael Buckley Quartet – a powerful performance from some of Ireland’s leading jazz players
Guest vinyl selectors including StrangeLove, Emmy Shigeta and Alba
Every event offered something different, yet all were united by the same theme: exceptional music delivered in an environment made for listening.
Creating a Space for Culture
Jazz Night at Tengu isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about building community. The seated, table-only format allowed guests to slow down, savour the moment, and experience live music as it was intended. Whether people came as long-time jazz lovers or curious first-timers, the atmosphere encouraged connection, discovery and appreciation.
