Suntory Whisky Tasting Event at Yamamori North City – Event Recap!
On 24th July, we were delighted to host our Suntory Whisky Tasting Event at Yamamori North City. Doors opened at 6:00 PM, and by 6:30 PM, the room was filled with over 100 wonderful guests eager to experience a memorable evening.
From the moment guests entered, the atmosphere was transformed—every corner of the space was decorated with beautiful sakura flowers, evoking the charm and elegance of Japan. It truly felt like being transported.
A Long-standing Partnership with Suntory
Suntory has been one of Yamamori’s most enduring and valued partners since the early days of our restaurant journey. We are deeply grateful for their continuous support over the years.
This year marks Yamamori’s 30th anniversary, a significant milestone in our history. When we discussed how best to celebrate this occasion and express our appreciation to our customers, the Suntory team immediately said, “Yes, let’s create something special together!”
Together, we spent many hours planning and curating an unforgettable experience—and we are thrilled with the outcome. Events like this give us the chance to show our gratitude to the people who have supported us throughout the years in a truly unique and meaningful way.
Special Cocktails for a Special Occasion
As part of the celebration, Yamamori x Suntory collaborated to create a selection of exclusive cocktails, crafted especially for this event. While the main focus of the evening was whisky tasting, these limited-edition drinks were a highlight in their own right.

These cocktails added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening, offering guests a one-of-a-kind tasting experience that perfectly complemented the Suntory whisky selection.
Whisky Tasting Experience
The heart of the evening was our guided whisky tasting, featuring four distinct Suntory whiskies that showcased the depth and craftsmanship of Japanese distilling. Each whisky was thoughtfully introduced to highlight its character, history, and tasting notes.
Alongside the whiskies, guests also enjoyed two specially crafted cocktails—unique to this event—adding a creative twist to the tasting experience.
To elevate the evening further, we served five carefully paired Japanese dishes, each designed to complement the flavours of the whisky. From delicate textures to bold umami profiles, every dish was curated to harmonise with the tasting journey.
It was a truly immersive culinary and cultural experience that brought together the best of Japanese food and drink.
Behind the Story: A Team Effort at Yamamori North City
This whisky tasting event took place at Yamamori North City, located just steps away from the iconic Ha’penny Bridge, one of Dublin’s most recognisable landmarks.
It was the first time we hosted an event of this scale at our North City location, welcoming 100 guests into our space. Bringing this experience to life required exceptional planning and dedication from our entire team.
At the heart of it all was our Head Chef, Gerswin, who led the culinary side of the evening. He took full responsibility for designing a Japanese tasting menu that would perfectly match the flavour profiles of the whiskies and cocktails. Chef Gerswin took time to study each whisky in depth, experimenting with ingredients and techniques to ensure each dish was both authentic and harmoniously paired.
Cooking and serving dishes for 100 guests simultaneously is no easy feat—but he made it happen, delivering a flawless and flavourful experience. Team Gerswin not only rose to the challenge—they truly enjoyed every moment of it.
The success of this event was made possible by the incredible effort and passion of our kitchen team. Behind the scenes, they were the quiet force that brought this celebration to life—and we are incredibly proud of what they accomplished.
